Dear Parents, Grandparents and Friends of PBMA,
Our school will again be participating in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s School and Youth Program. We will be collecting spare change to support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s mission which is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, and to provide quality of life for patients and their families. Assemblies were held today and students will be bringing home collection boxes. Please help in any way you can.
On Wednesday, February 29th, we will be joining the Literacy Coalition’s “Wear Pink Shirts” Day to make the statement that each of us can make a difference in eliminating bullying. Students may wear pink shirts instead of their uniform shirts. (Shorts, pants, skirts etc. should be the regular colors - black, navy, or beige). Flyers went home last week.

A literary event for the entire family will take place on Saturday, April 28th, 2012, at Palm Beach Gardens High School. The event will take place from 9am – 3pm. There will be panel discussions, author sessions, and book signings. This is a wonderful opportunity for you and your child to meet authors. If you need more information, go to www.aprilisforauthors.org.
Lunch menus will be coming home today. Please look them over with your child.
Please check our website for the “FCAT Question of the Day”. Questions, answers and explanations are available on the site, so please check these out with your children. It’s a great way to spend time together, have fun, and prepare for this important test. The questions are from the Department of Education website’s “FCAT Released Tests”, from the FCAT Item Specifications, or from our staff. A different grade level and subject is featured each day. Try the ones for your child’s grade, and for a challenge, try higher grade level questions! The address is www.palmbeachmaritimeacademy.org.
