At Palm Beach Maritime Academy (PBMA), we serve students in Kindergarten through 12th grade across two campuses in Palm Beach County, and yes, we're kind of a big deal around here. π We are an award-winning charter school in Palm Beach County, and this year the trophy case got a serious upgrade: our elementary campus earned an A school grade, the only A rating among elementary schools in the area, the Palm Beach Post named us Best Charter School for the seventh year in a row, Cognia handed us their esteemed accreditation, and FOX viewers voted us a Viewer's Choice winner. Our neighbors, a national accrediting body, and local TV viewers all showed up to say the same thing.
Our elementary campus just added a big trophy to their case: an A school grade from the state of Florida. That makes PBMA Elementary the only A-rated elementary school in the area, a distinction our teachers and scholars earned together. From kindergarten on, our youngest Sharks are building the kind of academic foundation that carries them straight through to Cambridge AICE courses in high school.
Every year, Palm Beach Post readers vote for their favorite schools across the county, and for seven years straight, they have chosen PBMA. That kind of streak does not happen by accident. It comes from families who tell their neighbors about our small classes, teachers who greet students by name every morning, and a community that keeps showing up for our scholars year after year. Seven-for-seven and we're still counting.
While the Palm Beach Post award comes from our community, Cognia Accreditation comes from an independent organization that evaluates schools against rigorous national standards for curriculum, instruction, leadership, and student outcomes. Earning this accreditation means PBMA has been reviewed by experts outside our own walls and found to meet standards used by top-performing schools across the country. It is the kind of recognition families cannot always see day-to-day, but it shapes everything from how we plan lessons to how we support every scholar's growth.
Local television viewers had their say as well, naming PBMA a WFLX FOX Viewer's Choice winner this year for Best Local Elementary School AND Best Local High School! Between the Palm Beach Post, Cognia, and FOX, we have now been recognized by our neighbors, an independent accrediting body, and tv viewers across the region. Three very different groups looked at PBMA from three very different angles, and they all landed on the same answer: this is an award-winning charter school in Palm Beach County that families can trust.
