Palm Beach Maritime Academy

When our students move from elementary to middle school, or middle school to high school, they're not walking into a building full of strangers. They're staying inside a community that already knows them. We've watched siblings grow up together in our hallways, and we've watched staff members move from cheering on a kindergarten reading milestone to writing a college recommendation letter for the same student years later.

Our full-time licensed mental health counselors, our evidence-based SEL programming, and our weekly school-based team meetings aren't one-year initiatives. They're part of a system that tracks each child's growth across their entire time with us. A student who needed extra support in third grade is known by that same network of caring adults in seventh grade. Nobody has to reintroduce themselves or start their file over.

A K-12 model lets us build our scholars' academic path with intention from the very beginning. By the time our students reach high school, that foundation shows up in real opportunities: Cambridge AICE coursework, dual enrollment with Palm Beach State College, and a path to college credit before graduation. Our scholars aren't catching up to a new curriculum at a new school. They're building on what they already know.

Families tell us again and again that the friendships their children make at PBMA are different because they have time to grow. Staying with the same classmates across elementary, middle, and high school gives our scholars the chance to build the kind of deep, lasting relationships that shorter school stints just can't offer. It also means less time adjusting to a new social environment and more time learning, competing, and creating together.

One school system means one calendar, one transportation plan, and one campus community to navigate, not three separate applications and three sets of new routines. With county-wide transportation, before and after care from 7am to 6:30pm including supper, and a shuttle between our campuses, we've built PBMA around the way families actually live.
